Overview: “Best eating experience in Sussex? I’m not convinced. However, Tottington Manor is full of charm, ambience, great service and scenic surroundings, offering a huge range of tasty meals made with fine local produce.”
Overview: “Sunday lunch at The Grand is not only one of the most enjoyable that I’ve had in a while, but it’s also the most reasonably priced, combining beautifully cooked and skilfully prepared food, superb service and salubrious surroundings, to transform the good old Sunday lunch into a real occasion – all from just £13.99!”
Overview: “Aloka offers some of the most creative, exciting and flavour-packed food I’ve had in a long time. Whereas it’s ‘botanical living cuisine’ once felt like a novelty act, Aloka now has a new chef, new menu and has finally established itself as one of Brighton’s finest – which coming from a fervent meat eater says a lot!”

Well cooked, reasonably priced, homemade traditional pub classics served with a smile and a frothing pint makes The Cock Inn the stuff of country pub legend. With an ample beer garden and generous indoor fire place, this pub is a fantastic choice come rain or shine – just make sure you leave plenty of room for pudding!
I really hope that the food I experienced at The Grand is typical of the food available in the restaurant, because if the team can maintain this standard, then The Grand can finally take its rightful place at Brighton’s culinary top table.
In this increasingly populated world, very few places offer total sanctuary away from the stresses and strains of modern living. Barefoot Yurts is one such place. Peaceful, tranquil and with mesmerisingly beautiful views, this truly is a slice of heaven in the Sussex countryside.
The service was absolute chaos and despite claiming to be child friendly, the pub was not geared toward children in any way. However, with a skilled chef who’s clearly passionate about his food, the pub could become a decent eatery, once its front of house problems are addressed.
